Wildlife Galore!
Wildlife thrives in the North Pennines - red squirrels, otters, black grouse and 22,000 pairs of breeding wading birds can all be found here. In late spring and early summer our fantastic hay meadows are awash with wildflowers and in late summer the heather moorlands really come into their own.
